National Central University (NCU), through Professor Sheng-Shiang Wang’s visit to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) from July 4 to 23, is on track to establish a sister school relationship. This makes NCU potentially the first Taiwanese university to partner with the University of Alaska System.

NCU’s academic focus aligns well with UAF, a leader in Polar Research and Earth Sciences. The exchange centered on key areas like satellite remote sensing of wildfires and permafrost, and atmospheric observation techniques, including a visit to the famous Poker Flat Research Range.
